Guidelines for Handicaps, Playing, Competition Entry
Cadets who have a South Course Membership, are allowed to play the course with an adult at any time, apart from before midday at the weekend. They can obtain a CONGU handicap by entering 3 cards played at least one week apart. They can then enter any Cadet Competitions and/or put in more supplementary cards (up to a maximum of 10 per calendar year) to improve their Handicap.
Once a Cadet’s Handicap has come down to 20 or better, they may enter club competitions. They must pay the full entry fee and must be accompanied by an adult member of the Club. Until their Handicap comes down to 12 or better, they are not allowed to play before midday at the weekend.
Cadets who have a handicap of 12 or better may play before midday at the weekend, but must still be accompanied by an adult member of the Club. If a Cadet competition is scheduled at a weekend, Cadets must play in this, in preference to any other club competition. Cadet competitions will always start after midday at the weekend. If a Cadet competition is scheduled during the week, it will start at 9am.
To be eligible to play in Major Board Competitions, Cadets must have a handicap of 12 or better and must have played in at least 3 club competitions ( i.e Medal or Stableford ) .
Normal Golf etiquette rules apply to all Cadets and these must be adhered to at all times. Any Cadets missbehaving or found to be abusing the course will be removed immediately.
An EGU Fee and a small donation per Golfer will be added to the above rates. The donation will be donated to the Members Committee and put towards their Entertainment Fund. All memberships run from 1st April until 31st March following year. Pro-rata rates are available, rates are reduced by one twelfth for each complete month that has passed. *Joint- Denotes Individual and Spouse (Partner must be living at the same address to apply for reduced rate.
